“The Process”
How does this process work?

Depending on the case, bail is set and must be paid to the detention center to obtain release.
Example: Bail has been set at $20,000. You must pay the jail $20,000 to obtain release of the defendant. By hiring us at Las Vegas Bail Bonds, you pay us 15%, or $3,000, by cash or credit card or other credit arrangement. Once the contract is signed and payment has been made, we go to the jail, pay the $20,000 bail deposit for you, and the defendant will be released.

Will the $3,000 be refunded? No. The $3,000 (15%) is our fee for “loaning” you the $20,000 to post bail.

Are bail bonds more expensive in Las Vegas?

What does a Las Vegas bail bondsman do?

A bail bondsman, here in Las Vegas as in all other cities, obtains release of the defendant currently in jail.

When one is arrested, an indemnitor (typically a family member or friend who accepts financial liability for the defendant) may use a bail bondsman to obtain release of the defendant. The bail bondsman will typically accept around 10 percent of the full bail amount as security to obtain the release. E.g., if the bail is $50,000, the premium (the amount paid to the bail bondsman) will be $5,000.

In addition, the indemnitor will likely be asked to prove their ability to pay the entire bail amount if the defendant fails to make all the required court appearances. The bondsman is, in effect, lending the indemnitor $50,000 for a fee of $5,000. Typically there’s no refund for the services of a bail bondsman.
